A bank in Nairobi is hiring a Network Engineer to keep its corporate network reliable and secure.
What you would do
- Manage and ensure the performance and reliability of the corporate network to meet service level agreements
- Monitor network performance using SNMP, logs and event data for proactive support
- Develop and maintain policies on device access, data transmission, storage, business continuity, backups, security and monitoring
- Plan and carry out upgrades, firewall signature updates and patch releases for ICT assets
- Research emerging technologies and industry standards to improve network performance and security
- Install, support and maintain network devices and troubleshoot system failures
What they ask for
- BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
- CCNP certification is mandatory; CCIE is preferred
- At least 5 years of experience planning, analysing, designing, supporting and developing complex LAN/WAN infrastructures
- Experience integrating systems across UNIX, Linux and Windows environments
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IP Telephony and firewall appliances
- Leadership experience on mission-critical projects and multi-disciplinary teams
